Biogas for pulp dryers
Tembec is a leading integrated forest products company with extensive operations. In Temiscaming, QC, Canada, where they produce sulphite pulp, mechanical pulp and paper products, an anaerobic project with BIOPAQ®IC bioreactors and a large THIOPAQ® gas scrubber treat 180 tonnes of COD per day. The reactor treats acid condensate plus mechanical pulp mill effluent. The biogas is used to replace most of the natural gas in the market pulp dryers.
