On the 21st of November 2012, Her Royal Highness Princess Máxima of the Netherlands inaugurated Paques Brasil Sistemas para Tratamento de Efluentes Ltda in Piracicaba, Brazil.

Princess Máxima performed the official opening ceremony in the presence of the Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation, Ms. Lilianne Ploumen and the Dutch ambassador in Brazil, Mr. Kees Rade. Afterwards, the Princess was given a tour in the new manufacturing facilities and got informed about the Paques biological treatment technologies for wastewater and gas.

The Prince of Orange and Princess Máxima are visiting Brazil from 19th to 23rd of November.
This visit coincides with the economic mission of the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which aims at strengthening economic ties with Brazil, including in the field of Bio-based Economy.

The new subsidiary Paques Brasil is the third sales/production site of the Dutch company Paques, which in the last decades has specialized in the purification of water and gas based on biotechnology. With these technologies Paques has proven to be able to help companies and governments to meet one of the greatest challenges of our contemporary society: reducing the water and CO2 footprint and recovering valuable resources from waste (water). Paques' technologies are applied in various sectors all over the world.
