PAQUES and OVIVO sign exclusive Licensing Agreement for the
ANAMMOX® technology in the North American municipal market.
Paques and Ovivo Inc. announced today that they have entered into an exclusive license agreement that will allow Ovivo to sell the ANAMMOX® technology in the municipal market in the USA and Canada.
Paques is a world-leading company in the environmental biotechnology sector which over decades has been at the forefront of introducing and upscaling innovative bioreactor systems. The revolutionary ANAMMOX® process is a cost-effective and sustainable way of removing ammonium from effluents and ammonia from waste gas. Under the agreement, Paques and OVIVO will commercially work together to accelerate the expansion of the ANAMMOX® technology in the municipal market in North America. Paques has 15 years of experience in full scale ANAMMOX® plants, having being the first to launch the de-ammonification process using the Anammox bacteria in 2002. Paques’ ANAMMOX® technology is now used in over half of the entire worlds installed de-ammonification capacity using the anammox bacteria.
With the ANAMMOX® technology aeration requirements can be reduced by 60%, while the supplemental organic carbon requirements can be eliminated completely. This can lead to substantial savings in operational costs for municipal wastewater treatment facilities.
Stephan Bocken, CEO of Paques: “We are extremely excited about the collaboration with OVIVO. This license agreement for the ANAMMOX® technology in the municipal market demonstrates Paques’ long term commitment to the North American market as OVIVO is a leading player in this market.
Marc Barbeau, President and CEO of OVIVO adds to this: “Ovivo is dedicated to innovation in an industry that is in constant evolution and offers water treatment solutions that are cost-effective, energy-efficient and environmentally sustainable.. As such, we believe that the collaboration between Paques and Ovivo has the potential to create a significant impact in the municipal market. We look forward to working together and deploying the ANAMMOX® technology.”
The agreement will be signed on Monday, September 26th, at 9:45 a.m., during the Water Environment Federation’s Annual Technical Exhibition and Conference (“WEFTEC”) in New Orleans, at Ovivo’s booth #2729.
